MR NELSON MANDELA'S ENDORSEMENT OF YESTERDAY The Nelson Mandela Foundation is committed to raise awareness about
HIV/AIDS. At the same time we are building strategic partnerships to facilitate
and implement programmes that can make a difference. One such partnership
is with Anant Singh and Videovision Entertainment. We plan to use YESTERDAY as a resource across in our Social Development Programme. The HIV/AIDS and Education projects will be able to allow communities to interact with the film, engage with the circumstances it presents, and with specific responses to the characters portrayed. We are confident that this will assist in spreading the message of prevention, caring for and supporting those infected and affected by the pandemic and most importantly highlight the need to remove stigma and discrimination. YESTERDAY is an eloquent, unsentimental film that quietly builds an overwhelming emotional force. The first international film made in isiZulu, YESTERDAY is a story of courage, compassion and hope, set in contemporary South Africa. On behalf of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, we commend Leleti Khumalo, Anant Singh, Darrell Roodt, and all those involved, for making this film and we are very proud to be associated with them. |
