SUDHIR PRAGJEE (executive producer) Sudhir Pragjee (executive producer) is a director of Videovision Entertainment (Pty) Ltd and is responsible for the Business Affairs portfolio in the Videovision Entertainment Group of Companies. During his tenure at the company, he has been the financial controller and/or executive producer on forty-eight feature films and thirteen television productions, and has controlled budgets totalling more than 400 million Rand (60 million US). Pragjee is chairman of the KwaZulu Natal based East Coast Radio and serves on the board of Cinema Starz and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange listed company, Kagiso Media Ltd. Pragjee, who qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1974, left the accounting profession to join Anant Singh and the world of entertainment in 1988. Among the films he has executive produced are the hit comedy “Mr. Bones,” “Cry, The Beloved Country,” based on Alan Paton’s classic novel, the rousing “Sarafina!” and “Paljas,” South Africa’s first entry for Oscar consideration. The television productions he has executive produced include the international hit game show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” “Countdown To Freedom,” “Will Smith In Africa,” and the drama series “The Res.” |
